contents Quantum Critical Point in Heavy Fermions Mucio Amado Continentino Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas The concept that heavy fermions are close to a quantum critical point and that this proximity determines theirphysical behavior has opened new perspectives in the study of these systems. It has provided a new paradigm forunderstanding and probing the properties of these strongly correlated materials. Scaling ideas were importantto establish this approach. We give below a brief and personal account of the genesis of some of these ideas 15years ago, their implications and the future prospects for this exciting field. 2005 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46435117 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.1 Vol.35
