contents Electromagnetic field correlators, maxwell stress tensor, and the casimir effect for parallel walls F. C. Santos J. J. Passos A. C. Tort Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas We evaluate the quantum electromagnetic field correlators associated with the electromagnetic vacuum distortedby the presence of two plane parallel conducting walls and in the presence of a conducting wall parallelto a perfectly magnetically permeable one. Regularization is performed through the generalized zeta funtiontechnique. Results are applied to rederive the atractive and repulsive Casimir effect through Maxwell stresstensor. Surface divergences are shown to cancel out when stresses on both sides of the material surface are takeninto account. 2005 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46435413 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.3A Vol.35
