- Amplified Spontaneous Emission of Proton Transfer Dyes in Polymers C. E. Fellows U. Täuber C. E. M. Carvalho C. G. Carvalhaes Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas We compare the Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) of the proton transfer dyes 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)benzimidazole (HPBI) and 2-(2-hydroxy-5-chlorphenyl)benzimidazole (Cl-HPBI) in three different polymerichosts under UV pulsed laser excitation. Pulseform and degradation of the dyes in the solid polymers wereanalysed. Spectroscopic data were used in a simple four-level kinetic rate equation system, in the attempt toexplain the observed results, i.e. first order exponential decay of maximum output energy and pulse shortening. The model includes transitions for the normal and tautomer form of the molecule as well as intersystem crossingand triplet-triplet transitions. 2005 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46435604 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.4A Vol.35
