contents Chiral transition and the quark-gluon plasma Eduardo S. Fraga Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas Quark Quarks Gluons gluon plasma We discuss a few recent results for the equation of state of strongly interacting matter and the dynamics ofchiral phase transition. First, we consider the cases of very high densities, where weak-coupling approaches mayin principle give reasonable results, and very low densities, where we use the framework of heavy-baryon chiralperturbation theory. We also speculate on the nature of the chiral transition and present possible astrophysicalimplications. Next, we discuss the kinetics of phase conversion, through the nucleation of bubbles and spinodaldecomposition, after a chiral transition within an effective field theory approach to low-energy QCD. We studypossible effects resulting from the finite size of the expanding system for both the initial and the late-stage growthof domains, as well as those effects due to inhomogeneities in the chiral field which act as a background forthe fermionic motion. We also argue how dissipation effects might dramatically modify the picture of explosivehadronization. 2006 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46436207 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.1B Vol.36
