  • Intersubband Excitations at Finite Temperatures and their Roles in Different Quasi-One-Dimensional Systems Marcos R. S. Tavares Guo-Qiang Hai Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas one Many Quasi body excitations Intersubband excitations We theoretically study many-body excitations in three different quasi-one-dimensional (Q1D) electron systems:(i) those formed on the surface of liquid Helium; (ii) in two coupled semiconductor quantum wires; and(iii) Q1D electrons embedded in polar semiconductor-based quantum wires. Our results show intersubbandcoupling between higher subbands and the two lowest subbands affecting even the lower energy intersubbandplasmons on the liquid Helium surface. Concerning the second system, we show a pronounced extra peak appearingin the intersubband impurity spectral function for temperatures as high as 20 K.We finally show coupledintersubband plasmon-phonon modes surviving for temperatures up to 300 K. 2006 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46436349 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.2A Vol.36
