contents Effect of Potential Shape on the Density of the Impurity States in Nanotube Eduardo A. Orozco Jesús D. González Martha L. Barrera Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas Magnetic field Binding energy Subbands mixing Density impurity states We analyze the effect of the potential shape on the ground state energy of the off-axis neutral donor inGaAs/Ga1¡xAlxAs cylindrical nanotube in the presence of the uniform magnetic field applied along the symmetryaxis. To take into account the mixing of the low lying subbands we express the wave function as aproduct of combination of 1s and 2px;y wave functions with an unknown envelope function that depends onlyon electron-ion separation. By using variational principle and the functional derivative procedure we derive aone-dimensional differential equation for the envelope function, which we solve numerically by using of thetrigonometric sweep method. Results of calculation of the ground state binding energy dependencies on thedistance from the donor position to the axis and on the strength of the external magnetic field for square-well,soft-edge-barrier and parabolic bottom potentials are presented. It is shown that the additional peaks in thecurves of the density of impurity states appear due to the presence of the repulsive core is nanotube. 2006 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46436524 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.3B Vol.36
