contents The Effective Charge Velocity of Spin-1/2 Superlattices M. S. Figueira J. Silva-Valencia R. Franco Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas DMRG Plateaus Heinsenberg Luttinger liquid We calculate the spin gap of homogeneous and inhomogeneous spin chains, using the White’s density matrixrenormalization group technique. We found that the spin gap is related to the ration between the spin velocityand the correlation exponent. We consider a spin superlattice, which is composed of a repeated pattern of twospin- 12 XXZ chains with different anisotropy parameters. The behavior of the charge velocity as a function ofthe anisotropy parameter and the relative size of sub-chains was investigated. We found reasonable agreementbetween the bosonization results and the numerical ones. 2006 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46436535 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.3B Vol.36
