- Two-photon Absorption Processes in Semiconductor Quantum Dots J. López Gondar R. Cipolatti G. E. Marques Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas Two Quantum dots photon absorption Nonlinear absorption The two-photon absorption process is a nonlinear phenomenon that shows very low optical efficiency in bulksemiconductors. For this reason the detection of these processes becomes very difficult from the experimentalpoint of view. Nevertheless, when dealing with semiconductor QDs with few nanometer radii, these transitionsare enhanced and the detection is possible. In this contribution we present analytical calculations forthe absorption coefficient in CdSe spherical QDs subjected to these second order processes, as a function ofthe characteristic dot parameters. The intensities of the absorption peaks, as well as the statistical treatmentinvolving QDs ensembles, are also reported. 2006 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46436543 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.3B Vol.36
