- The Spreading Width Calculation of Giant Resonances with a Semi-Microscopic Approach T. N. Leite N. Teruya Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas Giant Resonance Spreading Width Random Phase Approximation Statistical Multistep Compound Theory We have proposed a semi-microscopic approach to calculate the two particles - two holes (2p−2h) spreadingwidth of giant resonances. Our proposal has been based in a hybrid method that implements the statisticalmultistep compound theory of Feshbach, Kerman and Koonin (FKK), widely and successful used in nuclearreactions mechanisms, in order to include relevant informations about the microscopic structure obtained by theRandom Phase Approximation (RPA) calculations. This method is an approximative calculation to avoid theintrinsic numerical difficulties of those microscopic calculations that incorporate more complex structure thanone particle - one hole (1p−1h) excitations. Unlike the reaction context, the residual interaction was adjustedin RPA calculation to reproduce the lowest energy levels of the studied nuclei. The feasibility and the efficiencyof the approach has been tested in giant dipole resonances in 208Pb and neutron-rich calcium isotopes, 48Ca and60Ca. 2006 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46436626 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.4A Vol.36
