contents Gauge Covariance and the Chiral Condenate in QED3 A. Bashir A. Raya Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas Landau Schwinger Khalatnikov Dyson equations Fradkin transformations The ambiguities associated with the lack of gauge invariance in the non-perturbative truncations ofSchwinger-Dyson equations (SDEs) are a challenging problem which has not yet been resolved in a decisivefashion. Pursuing this aim, we study dynamical chiral symmetry breaking in quantum electrodynamicsin three space-time dimensions (QED3). We investigate the gauge dependence of the chiral condensate bothin the quenched and the unquenched versions of the theory and emphasize the importance of taking into accountthe gauge covariance properties of the fermion propagator as dictated by its Landau-Khalatnikov-Fradkintransformation (LKFT). We present numerical solutions of the SDE of the fermion propagator which respectWard-Green-Takahashi identities (WGTI) and LKFT simultaneously. As a striking consequence, we obtain apractically gauge independent chiral condensate. 2007 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46437224 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.1B Vol.37
