contents Melting Meson and Thermal Dileptons Ralf Rapp Hendrik van Hees Trenton Strong Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas Ion collisions Dilepton production Ultrarelativistic heavy Medium modifications of hadrons We first give a brief survey of theoretical evaluations of light vector mesons in hadronic matter, focusingon results from hadronic many-body theory. We emphasize the importance of imposing model constraintsin obtaining reliable results for the in-medium spectral densities. The latter are subsequently applied to thecalculation of dilepton spectra in high-energy heavy-ion collisions, with comparisons to recent NA60 data atthe CERN-SPS.We discuss aspects of space-time evolution models and the decomposition of the excess spectrainto different emission sources. 2007 artículo científico 0103-9733 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=46437525 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=464 Brazilian Journal of Physics application/pdf Sociedade Brasileira de Física Brazilian Journal of Physics (Brasil) Num.2C Vol.37
