Hypoglycemic, Antihyperglycemic and Anti-Oxidant Evaluations María Luisa Garduño Ramírez Guillermo Delgado Multidisciplinaria (Ciencias Naturales y Exactas) epi anti matarique Compositae radulifolin E The investigation of the chemical constituents from theroots of Psacalium radulifolium (Compositae), a member of thematarique complex of medicinal plants, resulted in the isolation offour additional new eremophilanoids: radulifolin D, radulifolin E(ketodecompostin), radulifolin F (3β-hydroxy-cacalone-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside)and epi-radulifolin F (3β-hydroxy-6-epi-cacalone-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside), together with the known compounds maturinone,acetylmaturine, dimaturine, triacontanol, hydroxycacalolide,epi-hydroxycacalolide, β-sitosteryl-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, β-Dglucopyranoseand saccharose. The methanol extract from the rootsof this species displayed hypoglycemic activity, but cacalol, cacalone,epi-cacalone, O-methyl-1,2-dehydrocacalol and decompostindid not exhibit activity. The antihyperglycemic evaluation of theextract demontrated that it was inactive.
