- Study of the Influence of the Polyacetylene Main Chain Configuration and the Internal Stacking of Pendant Groups over the Optical... Ernesto Rivera Multidisciplinaria (Ciencias Naturales y Exactas) UV vis pyrene fluorescence polyarylacetylenes The influence of the polyacetylene backbone configurationand the internal stacking of pendant groups over the optical and photophysicalproperties of trans-poly(1-ethynylpyrene) (trans-PEP) andcis-poly(1-ethynylpyrene) (cis-PEP) was studied by UV-vis and fluorescencespectroscopy. From the absorption spectra of both polymers,it was found that trans-PEP possesses a higher degree of conjugationthan its cis analogue. Besides, intramolecular interactions occur betweenthe pendant pyrene units (associated pyrenes) present in eachpolymer, giving rise to a new emission. These interactions are strongerin cis-PEP due to a coiling of the main polyacetylene chain.Excitation spectra jointly with fluorescence decay profiles show thatthese interactions occur in the ground state (static excimer). 2004 artículo científico 1870-249X https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=47548108 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=475 Journal of the Mexican Chemical Society application/pdf Sociedad Química de México Journal of the Mexican Chemical Society (México) Num.1 Vol.48
