| contents | Kinetic Aspects of Soai´s Asymmetric Autocatalysis Thomas Buhse Multidisciplinaria (Ciencias Naturales y Exactas) Soai reaction asymmetric autocatalysis enantioselection Recent kinetic studies are discussed that shed light on thereaction mechanism of the autocatalytic addition of diisopropylzinc topyrimidine carbaldehydes (Soai reaction). Soai´s reaction stands forthe exclusive example of chirally autocatalytic reaction system inorganic chemistry and has attracted close attention from several viewpoints:as possible account for the origin of biomolecular homochirality,as potential innovation in enantioselective synthesis or as a furtherremarkable manifestation of nonlinear dynamics in chemical systems. It is indicated that the reaction is driven by enantioselectiveautocatalysis and mutual inhibition as the essential components. Anumerical approach reveals that experimentally observed chiralamplification and mirror-symmetry breaking can be readily reproducedby a comparatively simple kinetic model that considersmonomers as the catalytic species. 2005 artículo científico 1870-249X https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=47549407 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=475 Journal of the Mexican Chemical Society application/pdf Sociedad Química de México Journal of the Mexican Chemical Society (México) Num.4 Vol.49 |
