- Catalytic Synthesis of 1,3,5-Triphenylbenzenes, B-Methylchalcones and 2,4,6-Triphenyl Pyrylium Salts, Promoted by a Super Acid Triflouromethane Sulfonic Clay from Acetophenones Rosario Ruíz-Guerrero Lorena Bautista Marina Vargas Eloy Vázquez-Labastida Jorge Cárdenas Manuel Salmón Multidisciplinaria (Ciencias Naturales y Exactas) β Keywords Acetophenones Pyrylium salts Methylchalcones A montmorillonite clay from the State of Durango,Mexico, was used as catalyst. The clay was activated with trifluoromethanesulfonic acid and used to study the condensation of differentacetophenones in refluxing benzene to produce triphenylbenzenes,β-methylchalcones and pyrylium salts. This catalytic procedureafforded a new simple one-step method for the synthesis of complexorganic molecules through the C-C bonds formation and thecounter ion for the pyrylium salt. A proposed mechanism of the isolatedcompounds is discussed as well as their identification by spectroscopicmethods and by comparison with reported data, acquiredfrom the previously synthesized derivatives by other synthetic methods. 2006 artículo científico 1870-249X https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=47550310 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=475 Journal of the Mexican Chemical Society application/pdf Sociedad Química de México Journal of the Mexican Chemical Society (México) Num.3 Vol.50
