contents Decomposition and Cyanidation Kinetics of the Argentian Ammonium Jarosite in NaOH Media Antonio Roca Francisco Patiño Isauro Rivera Leticia Hernández Miguel Pérez Eleazar Salinas Martín Reyes Multidisciplinaria (Ciencias Naturales y Exactas) cyanidarion descompositon Ammonium jarosite granulometric analysis In this work, the synthesis, characterization, reactivity inNaOH media and the cyanidation of the ammonium jarosite areapproached. The jarosite was synthesized and characterized by severalanalytical techniques; the granulometric analysis was also performed. The synthesis results show that the material consists of asolid ammonium-hydroniumjarosite-argentojarosite solution of anapproximate [ (NH4(0.95) Ag0.025 H30 0.025)Fe2.66(SO4 )2 (OH)6] formula. This jarositic compounds synthesis, along with the mechanical agitationsystem with seed recycling, has a notable effect on the spheroidizationdegree and on the particles growth degree, reaching thehighest particle sizes of the 44-37m ( > 61% ) kind. The decompositionand cyanidation curves show an induction period, a progressiveconversion period and a stabilization zone. The SEM-EDS analysisshows an unreacting jarosite core in the progressive conversion period,as well as a gel layer, through which the sulphate ions easily diffusetowards the solution. The alkaline decomposition and the ammoniumjarosite cyanidation is a process of two serial stages: A slowalkaline decomposition stage followed by an instant silver complexationstage. 2007 artículo científico 1870-249X https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=47551202 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=475 Journal of the Mexican Chemical Society application/pdf Sociedad Química de México Journal of the Mexican Chemical Society (México) Num.2 Vol.51
