- Lowered Expectations Towards Employer in the Current Labour Market: Analysing Graduate Recruitment Issues for Young Workers in Ireland Nataly Villalba-Lamprea Política em ployers young jobseekers graduate recruitment Millennial generation The purpose of this study is highlights the graduate’s preferences or expectations towards em-ployer in the current labour market and explore the employer’s perception regarding graduate expectations.This study has been undertaken by exploratory qualitative and quantitative research into how graduatesgain access to and their expectations in the labour market. A survey and interviews are provided to explorethe employers’ and graduates’ perceptions. Taking into account the characteristics of ‘Millennials’ andthe implications of their entry into the workplace for organisations’ graduate learning and developmentprogrammes. Also, we will take into account the employers’ recruitment, retaining, and developmentprograms managed for organisations these days, drawing on academic literature. Findings of this studyhave been presented by the young generation’s graduates’ expectations and suggests that this generationis completely aware of what they want from employers. The career development programmes are a veryimportant factor for them and for employers as well.
