contents Trabajando la Cultura: sobre la construcción de la identidad negra en Aguablanca, Cali Peter Wade Multidisciplinarias (Ciencias Sociales) The dualism in social science between practice and discourse has begun to bequestioned, amongst others, by perspectives that are trying to overcome thedivision between culture and politics. This questioning can be supported byan examination of the tension between culture as a human activity of presencein the world, in which there is a unification of the material and symbolic, andculture as a manufactured object in the context of hegemonic constructionsof culture. This article analyzes this tension in relation to the activities of blackyouths in Aguablanca, Cali, who use rap to create a cultural identity as a way oflife and at the same time create their culture as an object designed to facilitatetheir presence in the market, the state and the NGOs. The local state and thevoluntary sector also work on culture as more limited set of expressions, seeking to depoliticize it. 2008 artículo científico 2011-0324 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=476348366011 es http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=4763 Revista CS application/pdf Universidad ICESI Revista CS (Colombia) Num.2
