| contents | Características del Hábitat del desarrollo larval Sergio Hernández Trujillo Ciencias de la Tierra habitat copepods bathylagid Three bathylagid smelt species were identified: Bathylugus ochotensis Schmidt 1938, Bathyluguswesethi Bolin 1938 and Leuroglossus stilbius Gilbert 1890. A structure analysis of the copepod communitywas also carried out at the sampling stations and 55 species of copepods were identifíed. Thecopepod species Calanus pactjicus Brodsky 1948, Acartia danae Giesbrecht 1889 and Labidoceratrispinosa Esterly 1905 were dominant where B. ochotensis was found. The dominant copepod specieswhere B. wesethi was found were C. pa@cus, Corycaeus speciosus Dana 1848 and Paracalanusparvus Claus 1863. The copepod species C. pacificus, Pleuromamma abdominalis Lubbock 1888 and Rhincalanus nasutus Giesbrecht 1888 were found with L. stilbius. Both B. ochotensis and B. wesethiwere found in the California Current, whereas L. stilbius occurred in moditied California Currentwaters. The biogeographic affinities of the copepod species were mainly tropical-equatorial, temperateand transitional, and a different habitat was determined for each bathylagid species based on these biogeographicaffinities. It can, therefore, be inferred that distinct ecological conditions exist for eachspecies in the study area. 1995 artículo científico 0185-3880 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=48021406 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=480 Ciencias Marinas application/pdf Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Ciencias Marinas (México) Num.4 Vol.21 |
