  • Evidencia de distintos grupos poblacionales de Macarela Scomber japonicus Casimiro Quiñónez Velázquez María Georgina Gluyas Millán Ciencias de la Tierra age stock otolith Baja California Scomber japonicus Samples of the commercial catch of mackerel Scomber japonicus from Ensenada, Vizcaíno Bay,Magdalena Bay and the Gulf of California were analyzed to show biological evidente that supports ahypothesis of two stocks of mackerel. This evidente is the reproductive period, maturity cycle,deposition pattem of the otolith bands, length (Lo.,) and age (E,,,) of reproduction and compositionby length and age of the catch. Two stocks were identified, one that is distributed from southemCalifornia to Vizcaíno Bay and the other in the Gulf of California.
