Method and material: information source; nationalenquiry of performance evaluation 2002, whose main designwas a probabilistic, polyetapic, stratisfied, conglomeratedsampling, with national representativity, applied at homes.For performing this study, sociodemographic variables,health condition, use of ambulatory and hospital serviceand type of hospital were chosen; for the informationanalyses frequency and percentages were described and amodel of logystic regression was made. Results: the highestproportion of use of ambulatory and hospital services waspresent in the 25-44 years of age group; women; urbanpopulation inhabitants; low and middle socioeconomicallevel, with basic and high school education; living in regionswith low and high degree of margination.
