- Reliability in urban freight distribution: A Markovian approach Miguel Gastón Cedillo-Campos José Luis de la Riva-Canizales Alfredo Bueno-Solano Jesús Gonzalez-Feliu Jorge Luis García-Alcaraz Ingeniería Keywords logis tics Reliability supply chain Markov models A key element in assessing reliability in urban freight distrib ution (UFD) is the probability density function (PDF) of the va riables that characterize the performance of the distribution routes. This a rticle presents a method for modeling the PDF with an approach based on the Markov models, under the assumption that the present status of reliability of a route depends only on its immediate previous s tate. Currently, the PDF is obtained directly from the field, therefore an analytica l model that provides certainty to the analysis is essential. T he results are applicable both to the design of routes and operation of the same process. The originality of this work is based on the development of a methodological procedure to assess the reliability of the components of a path , complementary to current methodologies to calculate network r eliability. 2014 artículo científico 0012-7353 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=49632363030 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=496 Dyna application/pdf Universidad Nacional de Colombia Dyna (Colombia) Num.187 Vol.81
