contents Effects on lifetime of low voltage conductors due to stationary power quality disturbances Ivan Camilo Duran-Tovar Fabio Andrés Pavas-Martínez Oscar German Duarte-Velasco Ingeniería Harmonics Unbalance Aging Factor Power quality Pha se displacement This paper presents a methodology to estimate the effects of he ating and lifetime in Low Voltage conductors (LV) due to the pr esence of stationary power quality disturbances. Conductor overheating an d cable insulation accelerated aging can be caused by temporary increases in the RMS values of the voltages and currents due to stationar y disturbances. Waveform distor tion, unbalance and phase displa cements can be considered among the sta tionary disturbances. For distur bances with short duration, there are no significant reductions in the insulation lifetime, but disturba nces acting for long time peri ods will cause cumulative and detrimental effects. Currently va lid models for insulation aging are employed; the expected power quality distu rbance levels are extracted from power quality databases. A dis cussion about the effects on insulatio n lifetime is presented. 2015 artículo científico 0012-7353 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=49640676005 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=496 Dyna application/pdf Universidad Nacional de Colombia Dyna (Colombia) Num.192 Vol.82
