This new concep t may provide significant bene fits such as losses reduction, high de gree of efficiency and reliabi lity to the transmission and distribution networks. This paper presents generalities about microgrids, inc luding general structure and different topologies. Also an ori ginal methodology for facilita ting its design and evaluation is proposed.
