The interaction between groundwater inflow and outflow is compl ex in streams connected from aquifers located in fractured rock media. The recession curves of hydrographs provide information about t hese hydrogeological processes and they are useful to assess an insight in the storage-discharge relations hip in subsurface reservoirs. In this study, the physic base a nd the nonlinearity relationship of storage- discharge were analyzed through a mathematical expression which describe a master recession c urve. Four numerical algorithms w ere applied to estimate the baseflow of the Suratá’s River basin an d the high Oro’s River basin, Santander-Colombia. In both cases , master recession curves showed the nonlin earity relationship in storag e-discharge. Furthermore, the e xponent values and the proportio nality constants give additional informa tion about the aquifers in con tact to the river and the special scale of recharges that may o ccur in these aquifers. 2016 artículo científico 0012-7353 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=49645153027 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49645153027/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49645153027/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49645153027/49645153027.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49645153027/movil es http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=496 Dyna application/pdf Universidad Nacional de Colombia Dyna (Colombia) Num.196 Vol.83
