- Modeling attenuation and dispersion of acoustic waves in porousmedia containing immiscible non viscous fluids Alejandro Duitama-Leal Ovidio Almanza Luis Montes-Vides Ingeniería porosity viscosity saturation Biot theory attenuation This paper reports the results of the propagation of P-waves in porous media, simulated by solving the generalized Biot ́s equa tions in finite differences. In saturated models , it was observed that when a w ave advances, the maximum amplitude of the spectrum is shifted to lower frequencies, and that this maxim um amplitude and its frequency are directly related. Besides this, the quality factor decrease s with porosity and saturation. Hence, attenuati on becomes higher when porosity , saturation, and frequency incr ease but tends asymptotically t owards a constant value. Although phase an alysis is generally discarded, it does provide interesting results. It was noted that the wav e phase changes linearly with frequency at a rat e of change that increases line arly with travel time. This rate increases with saturation but decreases slightly with porosity. This work ignores s pherical divergence or scatte ring and concentrates on intrins ic attenuation caused by fricti on, particularly between fluids and solid particles. 2016 artículo científico 0012-7353 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=49648868010 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49648868010/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49648868010/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49648868010/49648868010.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49648868010/movil en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=496 Dyna application/pdf Universidad Nacional de Colombia Dyna (Colombia) Num.199 Vol.83
