  • Influence of porosity on the biomimetic growing patterns of bone-like apatite on the surface of calcium phosphate - calcium titanate - alumina compounds Érika Lorena Rosero-Alzate Miguel Ángel Zapata-Pernett Duvan Vega-Ortiz Laura Daniela Puerta-Tinoco Marcela Cristina Múnera-Ramírez Johanna Esguerra-Arce Adriana Esguerra-Arce Ingeniería porosity sintering growing pattern Biomedical applications Biomaterials are increasingly used for bone tissue regeneration because of their potential to overcome the morbidity caused by autologous bone grafts and allografts. A combination of properties is required, as biocompatibility, osteoconductivity, good mechanical strength and fracture toughness. In this research, a compound of alumina matrix with calcium titanate and calcium phosphate is proposed. Magnesium stearate was used as porogen agent. The aim of this research was to evaluate the effect of porosity on the crystalline phases formed, as well as the growing pattern and types of calcium phosphates formed after soaking in Hanks’ solution. It was found that the resultant porosity does affect the crystalline phases formed after sintering. It was also found that hydroxyapatite and octacalcium phosphate precipitates after soaking in Hank’s solution, and that the porosity affects the growing pattern. 2021 artículo científico 0012-7353 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=49671325003 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49671325003/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49671325003/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49671325003/49671325003.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49671325003/movil 10.7440/res64.2018.03 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=496 Dyna application/pdf Universidad Nacional de Colombia Dyna (Colombia) Num.218 Vol.88
