| contents | On the resource consumption of Software quantum computing simulators Gilberto Javier Díaz-Toro Luiz Angelo Steffenel Carlos J. Barrios-Hernández Ingeniería Quantum computing high performance computing quantum computing simulators Recently, several real quantum devices have become available through the cloud. Nevertheless, they are expected to be very limited, in the near term, in the number and quality of the fundamental storage element, the qubit. Therefore, software quantum simulators are the only widely available tools to design and test quantum algorithms. However, the representation of quantum computing components in classical computers consumes a big amount of resources. This work describes how to model the main elements of quantum computing in a classical computer and depicts resource consumption using two popular quantum simulators. In the end, we discuss different approaches to overcome this problem. 2021 artículo científico 0012-7353 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=49671325009 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49671325009/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49671325009/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49671325009/49671325009.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/496/49671325009/movil 10.7440/res64.2018.03 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=496 Dyna application/pdf Universidad Nacional de Colombia Dyna (Colombia) Num.218 Vol.88 |
