- WORK ACCIDENTS WITH ORGANIC MATERIAL AT UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL OF RIO DE JANEIRO Amanda Ferreira Coury Osnir Claudiano da Silva Júnior Medicina Nursing Professional pratice Occupational exposure Objectives: It aims to quantify the cases of occupational accidents involved with biological material, identify the profile of the vulnerable group of professionals and analyze the characteristics of these accidents. Method: This is an exploratory study and documentary with quantitative approach. There were 53 accidents from January 2005 to September 2007. Results:The results showed that the majority were women, from 19 to 25 years, professional nursing the average level during the month of April, the service day and doing the needles recapping.
