Method: Qualitative, with 5 participants and data collection in two stages. The first one had the purpose to identify age, gender, education level, marital status and income; the second focused on family organization. The analysis method used was the Discourse of the Collective Subject (DCS), CAAE: 33714314.4.0000.5564. Results: The discourses revealed the need for families to adapt to the routines imposed by the elderly presence and primary caregiver as a family member that changes their habits, and suffer deprivation of liberty.
