contents Aerosols and global change in the Pyrenees: A dustier atmosphere in the warmest scenario? Jorge Pey Javier Bandrés Blas L. Valero Garcés J. I. López-Moreno Comunicación Pyrenees aerosols high mountain Climate change global warming We have been witnessing rapid climate change in recent decades, with heatwaves now more frequent and winters less distinct. One notable consequence is the increasing frequency of dust storms in many areas of Spain. This raises concerns about the extent of atmospheric pollution compared to the past and its impact on regions like the Pyrenees. Current research aims to understand if dust episodes are more intense and frequent than before, how they affect high-altitude lakes, and how desert dust aerosols influence snow-cover duration in the area. These investigations are crucial for assessing the broader environmental impacts of climate change in mountainous regions. 2025 artículo científico 2174-3487 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=511782477005 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/5117/511782477005/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/5117/511782477005/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/5117/511782477005/511782477005.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/5117/511782477005/movil 10.7203/metode.15.30380 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=5117 Mètode Science Studies Journal application/pdf Universitat de València Mètode Science Studies Journal (España) Num.6 Vol.15
