- Silent Revolution: An Early Export from Pinochet’s Chile Felipe Moreno Economía y Finanzas Chile Pinochet Chicago School Free market model This article explores the evolution of liberal economics from the Chilean perspective as it was exported to the rest of the world. From its origins as “monetarism” to the days it started to be known as “neolibera - lism.” The traditional belief that free-market and democracy are bound together is challenged.
