Tectonatica pusilla (Say, 1822) is reported for the first time for Uruguayan waters, according todifferences of the shell respect another similar species, Tectonatica impervia (Philippi, 1845), previously mentioned forUruguay. These two species whose presence in this area is due to the influence of two different water masses(subtropical for the first, and subantartic for the second) have been previously confused in the Uruguayanmalacological literature.
