Sustainable tourism delivers a triple benefit: environmental conservation, economic development, and social progress. This document aims to compile a Tourism Sustainability Index (TSI) in México. Using the quantitative approach, 276 municipalities in México designated tourist destinations were analyzed. Twenty-five variables obtained from secondary sources were processed using the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) statistical technique. The results indicate a national average performance of 0.50, where the Sea of Cortés region presents the best performance with 0.57, and the Yucatán peninsula shows the lowest performance with 0.47.
