contents Impact of the Popocatépetl’s volcanic activity on the air quality of Puebla City, México Y. Flores A. Juárez C. Gay Biología gaussian model sulfur compounds Volcanic activity atmospheric pollution In this work we report measurements of atmospheric pollutants in Puebla City, including those registeredduring the period characterized by intense volcanic activity from Popocatépetl volcano between December2000 and January 2001. We used a gaussian air dispersion model to calculate the impact of sulfur compoundsfrom volcanic emissions on the measurements of these compounds in the stations belonging to Puebla City Atmospheric Monitoring Network. The data show that during the analyzed period, this volcanic emissionsaffected the air quality, increasing the indexes of PM10, CO and sulfur compounds. Also, the results ofapplying a gaussian air dispersion model to these sulfur compounds explains the measurements fromTecnológico station for days with intense volcanic activity and wind coming from the volcano to PueblaCity. 2005 artículo científico 0187-6236 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=56518104 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=565 Atmósfera application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Atmósfera (México) Num.1 Vol.18
