contents Hydrogeology and groundwater pollution of Yaqui Valley, Sonora, Mexico Luis E. Marín Rodrigo González Gustavo Córdova Ciencias de la Tierra water quality pollution risk pollution load groundwater contamination WORDS: aquifer vulnerability We use the G.O.D. criteria to evaluate the vulnerability of the Yaqui Valley aquifer from drill holedata and water table maps. The pollutant loads are identified and quantified and the aquifer pollutionrisk was calculated from the aquifer vulnerabili ty and the pollution load. The most vulnerable zonesare in the West, and the most important contributions of pollutants are from industrial, agricultural, livestock and population centers. The highest aquifer pollution risk areas are Central, West and East 1997 artículo científico 0016-7169 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=56836105 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=568 Geofísica Internacional application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Geofísica Internacional (México) Num.1 Vol.36
