- Coast effect in magnetotelluric soundings over the Yucatán peninsula, Mexico Oscar Campos Enríquez Jorge A. Arzate Jaime Urrutia Fucugauchi Omar Delgado Rodríguez Ciencias de la Tierra D modeling coast effect Chicxulub crater Yucatán peninsula Magnetotelluric sounding Three-dimensional synthetic modeling of magnetotelluric sounding data of the Yucatán peninsula suggests that the coasteffect on the magnetotelluric measurements carried out over the Chicxulub impact region is negligible. The marine platformsurrounding the Yucatán peninsula yields a moderate coast effect in a period range T= 10 to 1000 s, outside of the period rangeassociated wih the conductivity anomaly of the crater (T= 1 to 10 s). These results provide a framework for the interpretation ofMT soundings previously obtained in the Chicxulub crater and define other areas for future MT surveys in the Yucatán peninsula. 2001 artículo científico 0016-7169 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=56840103 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=568 Geofísica Internacional application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Geofísica Internacional (México) Num.1 Vol.40
