Schuch Ciencias de la Tierra Cosmic rays radiation belt trapped protons The possible existence of a positron radiation belt in the inner magnetosphere of the Earth, its space localization, flux andenergy distribution and the ratio of e+/e- flux are considered. We suggest for the positron generation the decay of charged pionsborn in nuclear reactions of the trapped radiation belt protons and of primary cosmic rays with residual atmosphere at the altitudesof 100 to 1000 km over the surface of the earth. A comparison is attempted with the recent data of AMS experiment on board thespace shuttle. 2004 artículo científico 0016-7169 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=56843211 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=568 Geofísica Internacional application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Geofísica Internacional (México) Num.2 Vol.43
