  • Shear-wave velocity profile at the Texcoco strong-motion array site, Valley of Mexico Bill Stephenson Cinna Lomnitz Ciencias de la Tierra SCPT shear Texcoco penetrometry wave velocity The shear-wave velocity profile at the Texcoco strong motion accelerograph array site was evaluated down to 39 m usingSeismic Cone Penetrometry (SCPT). The hard layer from 28 m to 29 m was drilled to allow penetration to greater depths. Theresults are compared with those obtained from shear-wave reflection/refraction, and from the inversion of microtremor data. Allthe studies agree on the depth and shear-wave velocity above the hard layer, but diverge below it.
