- Geochemistry of the hydrogeological reserve of Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico O. Escolero A. Molina-Maldonado J. M. Anzaldo L. E. Marín B. Steinich J. A. Pacheco Ciencias de la Tierra Karst Mexico Yucatán limestone groundwater quality Hydrochemical data are presented to describe the process that modifies the groundwater quality in northwest Yucatán.Solution of almost pure carbonate rocks, conservative mixing with seawater and ionic interchange in clayey limestone of middleEocene are found. Groundwater flow is from the central zone of the study area outward. New observations confirm earlier studieson proposed conservation measures in the area. Brackish water is found several kilometers inland. Salinity increase is due tosaltwater upconing in relatively deep wells or by the concentration of pumping. 2005 artículo científico 0016-7169 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=56844308 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=568 Geofísica Internacional application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Geofísica Internacional (México) Num.3 Vol.44
