Rojas Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas 235U Monte Carlo standard deviation neutron induced fission The mass and kinetic energy distribution of nuclear fragments from the thermal neutron-induced fission of 235U have been studied usinga Monte Carlo simulation. Besides reproducing the pronounced broadening on the standard deviation of the final fragment kinetic energydistribution (¾e(m)) around the mass number m = 109, our simulation also produces a second broadening around m = 125 that is inagreement with the experimental data obtained by Belhafaf et al. These results are a consequence of the characteristics of the neutronemission, the variation in the primary fragment mean kinetic energy, and the yield as a function of the mass. 2007 artículo científico 0035-001X https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57053506 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=570 Revista Mexicana de Física application/pdf Sociedad Mexicana de Física A.C.
