| contents | Electroweak-Higgs unification in the two Higgs doublet model: masses and couplings of the neutral and charged Higgs bosons J.L. Díaz-Cruz A. Rosado Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas Electroweak Higgs unification Two Higgs doublet model Higgs boson masses and couplings We obtain the mass spectrum and the Higgs self-couplings of the two Higgs doublet model (THDM) in an alternative unification scenariowhere the parameters of the Higgs potential ¸i (i = 1; 2; 3; 4; 5) are determined by imposing their unification on the electroweak gaugecouplings. An attractive feature of this scenario is the possibility of determining the Higgs boson masses by evolving the ¸i from theelectroweak-Higgs unification scale MGH down to the electroweak scale. The unification condition for the gauge (g1; g2) and Higgs couplingsis written as g1 = g2 = f(¸i), where g1 = k1=2Y gY , and kY isthe normalization constant. Two variants for the unification conditionare discussed: Scenario I is defined through the linear relation: g1 = g2 = kH(i)¸i(MGH), while Scenario II assumes a quadratic relationg21 = g22 = kH(i)¸i(MGH). In Scenario I, by setting ad hoc ¡kH(5) = 12kH(4) = 32kH(3) = kH(2) = kH(1) = 1, taking tan ¯ = 1and using the standard normalization (kY = 5=3), we obtain the following spectrum for the Higgs boson masses: mh0 = 109:1 GeV,mH0 = 123:2 GeV, mA0 = 115:5 GeV, and mH§ = 80:3 GeV, with similar results for other normalizations such as kY = 3=2 andkY = 7=4. 2007 artículo científico 0035-001X https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57053511 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=570 Revista Mexicana de Física application/pdf Sociedad Mexicana de Física A.C.
