The absorption is studied inthe vicinity of the transition metal L edge. At selected values of the excitation energy we also show emission spectra. The data are interpretedin terms of the multiplet structure of the transition metal ion in a crystal field, considering also configuration interaction effects in the solidsuch as charge transfer.
