| contents | The riemann framework and higher order godunov schemes for parallel, self-adaptive computational astrophysics Dinshaw Balsara Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas MHD HYDRODYNAMICS METHODS: NUMERICAL The eld of computational astrophysics (CA) has seen many recent advances. The emergence of higher order Godunov schemes for many of the systems of interestin CA represents a development of great importance in this eld. Such schemeso er high order accuracy and low dissipation. The fact that such schemes derivetheir underpinnings from physical features in the hyperbolic equations results intheir having greater physical delity and reliability compared to older formulations. These methods have been shown to be extensible to non-relativistic MHD,relativistic hydrodynamics, relativistic MHD, radiation hydrodynamics and radiationMHD. A further advantage is that such schemes also take well to parallel,self-adaptive strategies for their solution. Many of these methods have been developedby this author and his co-workers in an e ort to raise the quality of CAsimulations and we describe that work here. The methods have been implementedin the RIEMANN framework for highly parallel, self-adaptive CA. 2000 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57100915 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Vol.9 |
