Within this project we classify and discuss the properties of a sampleof more than 50 PNe, collected from the literature, in the light of their possibleformation mechanisms. In addition, we obtained images and spectra for 10 ofthese PNe, nding low-ionization structures with very di erent properties relativeto each other, in terms of expansion velocities, shapes, sizes and locations relativeto the main nebular components. Several physical processes have to be invokedin order to account for the formation and evolution of jets and jet-like structuresobserved. We present here some results which are illustrative of our work|on IC4593, NGC 3918, NGC 6337|comparing the di erent low-ionization structures inthese PNe and illustrating some of the questions that we try to address. The mostinteresting result we obtained is that the collimated LIS present a linear increase inthe expansion velocity from inner to outer regions. This is an important constrainton the models and is, in fact, one of the predictions of the interacting-stellar-windmodels for the formation of jets, if stellar magnetic elds are considered. 2000 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57100953 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Vol.9 |
