Raga Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas HYDRODYNAMICS COSMOLOGY: THEORY GALAXIES: FORMATION INTERGALACTIC MEDIUM The rst sources of ionizing radiation to condense out of the dark and neutralIGM sent ionization fronts sweeping outward through their surroundings, overtakingother condensed objects and photoevaporating them. This feedback e ect ofuniversal reionization on cosmic structure formation is demonstrated here for thecase of a cosmological minihalo of dark matter and baryons exposed to an externalsource of ionizing radiation with a quasar-like spectrum, just after the passage of theglobal ionization front created by the source. We model the pre-ionization minihaloas a truncated, nonsingular isothermal sphere in hydrostatic equilibrium followingits collapse out of the expanding background universe and virialization. Resultsare presented of the rst gas dynamical simulations of this process, including radiativetransfer. A sample of observational diagnostics is also presented, includingthe spatially-varying ionization levels of C, N, and O in the ow if a trace of heavyelements is present and the integrated column densities of H I, He I and He II,and C IV through the photoevaporating gas at di erent velocities, which would bemeasured in absorption against a background source like that responsible for theionization. 2000 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57100975 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Vol.9 |
