contents Cosmic rays and their radiative processes in numerical cosmology Francesco Miniati Tom W. Jones Hyesung Kang Dongsu Ryu Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas COSMIC RAYS COSMOLOGY: LARGE METHODS: NUMERICAL GALAXIES: CLUSTERS: GENERAL SCALE STRUCTURE OF THE UNIVERSE A cosmological hydrodynamic code is described, which includes a routine tocompute cosmic ray acceleration and transport in a simplied way. The routine wasdesigned to follow explicitly di usive acceleration at shocks, and second-order Fermiacceleration and adiabatic loss in smooth ows. Synchrotron cooling of the electronpopulation can also be followed. The updated code is intended to be used to studythe properties of nonthermal synchrotron emission and inverse Compton scatteringfrom electron cosmic rays in clusters of galaxies, in addition to the properties ofthermal bremsstrahlung emission from hot gas. The results of a test simulationusing a grid of 1283 cells are presented, where cosmic rays and magnetic eld havebeen treated passively and synchrotron cooling of cosmic ray electrons has not beenincluded. 2000 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57100977 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Vol.9
