  • A bi-component spectral analysis of 4 planetary nebulae M. H. Armour R. L. Kingsburgh Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas ERAL ISM: ABUNDANCES PLANETARY NEBULAE: GEN Presented here is the analysis of four planetary nebulae which show well{resolved Doppler splitting of their emission lines into distinct spectral components. The red, (R), and blue, (B), components of the spectral lines have been separatelyanalyzed to obtain the reddening, the electron temperature, the electron density, and the ionic and total abundances for each object within two areas of each nebulaalong the line of sight. The derived physical conditions for the R and B componentswere then compared to see if any variations occurred along the line of sight withinthese objects, indicating the presence of physical imhomogeneities along the line ofsight. For the central spectrum of NGC 6309, a variation of 1600K in Te[O III] isfound, along with suggested variations in ne[O II], c(H) and N/H between the Rand B components. For the central position of NGC 6751, Te[O III] varies by 1500Kbetween the R and B components. However, despite taking these Te variationsfound for NGC 6309 and NGC 6751 into account when calculating O2+/H+ ratios, discrepancies still exist between ratios derived from the recombination vs. thecollisional lines. It is nally noted that the expansion velocities for both the collisional and re-combination lines of O2+ are the same, indicating that the same volume of emissionis traced by these lines. 2001 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57101012 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Vol.10
