- Axisymmetric rotator models as pulsars: abject failure F. C. Michel I. A. Smith Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas PUL PLASMAS SARS: GENERAL STARS: NEUTRON MAGNETOHYDRODYAMICS The well{known Goldreich & Julian (1969) model postulated that even arotating neutron star with an aligned magnetic dipole moment would be an activepulsar. Although it was suspected as long ago as 1980 that this model could notwork as posed, we have now seen a resurgence of models that do not realize thebasic underlying problems. Unless such models can explicitly identify where thefailure of the GJ model is vitiated, they may not be a useful place to devote somuch theoretical e ort. 2001 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57101038 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Vol.10
