contents Enigmatic low-velocity Jet-like features in planetary nebulae Denise R. Gonçalves Antonio Mampaso Romano L. M. Corradi Física, Astronomía y Matemáticas ERAL HYDRODYNAMICS ISM: JETS AND OUTFLOWS PLANETARY NEBULAE: GEN We are developing a project aimed at studying the physical properties, origin and evolution of low-ionizationstructures in planetary nebulae. Within this project we have identied a number of pairs of highly collimatedlow-ionization jet-like features (Goncalves et al. 2001). In spite of being very similar to real jets, they have theintriguing property of possessing expansion velocities which are very low, or at least not signicantly di erentfrom, that of the shells in which they are embedded. In this contribution we discuss our data on these fake jets(Corradi et al. 1997, 1999) and compare them with existing theoretical models for the formation of collimatedstructures in PNe. These enigmatic jet-like systems are not easily accounted for within the theoretical scenariosthat deal with collimated features in PNe. 2002 artículo científico 0185-1101 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=57101323 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=571 Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica application/pdf Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica (México) Vol.13
